This is a one-day programme that will enable candidates share their experiences of being supervised and being a supervisor and to discover what makes a 'good supervisor'.

At the end of the session the candidates will be able to:

• Identify the main elements of effective supervision skills
• Explain the characteristics of a team and the benefits of good team building
• Identify what motivates individuals and teams
• Describe the leadership styles and their impact
• Explain the benefits of good communication and how to create effective relationships

The course will cover the following topics:

• What does a Supervisor do?
• Supervising your Team
• Motivating Individuals and Teams
• Styles of Leadership
• Liaising with your Manager

The course will be delivered in an interactive manner drawing on the experience of the candidates, group work, question and answer sessions etc followed by a multiple-choice test paper.
